The dancers put on a wonderful show of athletic dancing, puppets, amazing scenery and more. I was quite amazed when I walked into the gym and saw their impressive set-up. After the performance I told them they must do this show everywhere. Kevin McLennan, Principal, 108 Mile Elementary

ZarYevka Ballet furthurs the anti-bullying dialogue with this powerful story of two individuals from very different origins finding common ground. A great flood has forced the fish and the birds into close quarters, and things are not going very smoothly! But Felix and Barzec strike up an alliance as they work to protect the remaining forest. Is it possible our differences might turn out to be our greatest strength? Students are encouraged to consider the value of new perspectives, and how each of us can benefit when we respect and celebrate diversity.

The Jabberwocky is a 45-minute narrated story ballet, centering around the theme of gossip. Students experience the story through dancing, giant puppets and shadow magic - and are encouraged to participate vocally throughout. Magical scenery and colourful costumes help to tell the story. During the performance, we will dim the lights at the "stage" end of the gym so that our shadow puppets are visible. Following the presentation, we ask that a teacher or principal be nearby to select the students during Q&A time.
