Around the World with Boris Sichon
Posted by ArtStarts on Tuesday October 18th, 2011
For our Septemeber ArtStarts on Saturday’s workshop, we had the pleasure of hosting Boris Sichon for an amazing musical experience that kept us all captivated.

Boris playing the didgeridoo
With mouth harps, whistles, clackers, bells, drums, cymbals, all sort of ethnic flutes and with instruments made of bones, stones, seeds and horns from Bulgaria, Kenya, Tibet, Burkina Faso, Russia, Vietnam, Korea, Colombia, just to mention a few of them, people of all ages had the chance to touch, play and interact with his beautiful collection. Kids couldn't resist getting up and dancing while Boris skillfully interpreted well-known classical pieces with a big African wooden xylophone. Well done Boris, we look forward to having you again at ArtStarts!

Just look at all those incredible instruments!
ArtStarts on Saturdays takes place on the last Saturday of every month — check out past workshops here. Stay tuned for our next Puppet Adventures workshop with Kellie Haines on October 29th. It’ll be an exciting musical adventure with Kellie and her puppet friends. Don’t forget to bring a sock as she will teach you how to transform it into a puppet friend of your own!

Music appreciation starts at an early age
