Job Posting: Program Assistant (Part-Time)
ArtStarts in Schools is looking for an individual with strong organizational skills for a part-time position starting mid October 2012. The position will work to support ArtStarts’ diverse network of programs and services. The Program Assistant is required for 20 hours/week at an hourly rate of $16 – 18 (based on experience). ArtStarts’ administrative office and gallery is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at Richards and Robson. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm.
AREAS OF ACTIVITY
Gallery Reception + Outreach: Welcoming visitors to the ArtStarts gallery – Canada’s first public gallery for young people’s art. Duties include: answering phones and general inquiries, providing gallery introductions to visitors, supporting the promotion and coordination of group tours and collaborating with volunteers during their shift.
Financial Administration: Supporting the Financial Coordinator in the administration of core programs and services. Duties include: processing artist and delegate fees, postage reconciliation, processing cheque requests, invoicing and bank deposits.
Program Administration: Handling the administration of the Cherniavsky Mr. Music funding program. Duties include: responding to inquiries, receiving applications, entering them into the database, allocating funds, writing letters, processing cheque requests and mailing cheques.
General Administration: Supporting the Office Manager and general staff as needed. Duties include: volunteer coordination support, data entry, filing and office organization.
