Job Posting: Professional Development Manager - Arts Integration

ArtStarts is seeking a Professional Development Manager to lead our Infusion program. Infusion offers professional learning opportunities for artists and educators in the field of Arts Integration to support the activation of student learning in public and private schools across British Columbia.  Infusion uses the following comprehensive definition of Arts Integration as its foundation: Arts Integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process, which connects an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both.

This position is responsible for developing and managing a network of professional development offerings ranging from webinars and workshops, to customized coaching and training, to regional learning labs, and provincial conferences. Travel outside of the Lower Mainland will be required. This is a full-time salaried position that reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is based in Vancouver, BC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deliver pro-d opportunities for artists and educators related to Arts Integration
  • Develop relationships with artists, educators and administrators and promote program engagement
  • Build a network of facilitators that can deliver professional development offerings across the province
  • Create and edit materials for use in professional development offerings
  • Design program evaluation approaches to measure impact of learning opportunities
  • Generate and curate content to populate the program's online Community of Practice at artsinfusion.ca
  • Research and pursue opportunities for program sustainability
  • Keep at the forefront of research on the value of Arts Integration

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in Education or relevant field of study
  • 3+ years of experience in a program leadership role

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A strong belief in the ability for professional development to transform lives and enrich communities
  • Experience designing and facilitating learning experiences for adults (ideally educators and/or artists)
  • Applied understanding of the K – 12 curriculum and current landscape of education in BC
  • Demonstrated understanding of the creative process and experience working with professional artists
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to develop, motivate and coach individuals and teams
  • Project management experience to lead complex pieces of work in an organized and effective manner
  • Ability to draft clear and compelling briefs and present ideas in an interesting and organized manner
  • High aptitude for technology and dedication to administrative efficiency
  • Personal commitment to ongoing learning and delivering work with excellence
