Arts Integration Manager

The definition of Arts Integration for this program is as follows: Arts Integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process, which connects an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both.
Some of the key goals of the program include: establishing a network of schools committed to arts integration as an approach to teaching; developing teachers’ and artists’ abilities to plan, lead and assess quality arts integration lessons; positively influence the way teachers teach and the way students learn; and facilitating teachers and students to meet provincially determined Prescribed Learning Outcomes in the arts and other subject areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in collaboration with an advisory committee to develop and launch this new program 
- Build relationships with key advocates (Ministry of Education, BCTF etc.)  to promote the program
- Reach out to other organizations that work in the field of arts education and learn from best practices 
- Lead introductory Arts Integration workshops and annual summits for program participants
- Liaise between the artist trainers and teachers to support program delivery 
- Generate content to maintain an online Community of Practice
- Travel outside of the Lower Mainland to communities in BC to support program implementation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters in Education or Art Education or equivalent
- 3+ years of Arts Education related work experience 
- Experience developing and leading interactive workshops and developing curriculum
- Superb communication and writing skills 
- Ability to build positive working relationships
- Geographic understanding of British Columbia 
- Demonstrated passion for the arts and education
This is a regular full-time position (35 hrs/week) with a competitive salary, benefits and vacation time.

ArtStarts in Schools is seeking an Arts Integration Manager for a regular full-time position. This exciting position will spearhead a new professional learning program for artists and teachers, focused on arts integration in select schools across British Columbia.
