Do you enjoy the visual arts, performing arts and
young people? Have talent for event planning or gallery
tours? Then join the friendly ArtStarts team!
As a volunteer,
you could assist with gallery sitting, exhibitions,
receptions and special events, our annual performing
arts showcase, and daily administration (data entry,
proofreading, and mail outs).
FOUR
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED!
1. Gallery volunteers commit
to a weekly or bi-weekly minimum of 4 hours over an
8-to-12 week period (or longer if you prefer). Your
main task will be to sit at our sunny reception desk,
greet visitors and answer questions in person and
on the phone as well as daily administrative work.
You are given orientation and training and an overview
of the gallery operations.
2. (for
those with limited time)
Events volunteers assist with special events and projects
as they arise such as exhibition openings, installations
and take down. As a event volunteer, you bring a specific
skill which you have or want to enhance/improve on
and we can use for short periods.
3. .
For students interested in exploring or enhancing
their non-profit experience, ArtStarts offers a range
of opportunities within our gallery and office space.
4.
Held annually at the
Roundhouse, this 3-day performing arts showcase features
over 40 mini-performances for over 100 school programmers
from across BC and Canada. Volunteer opportunities
include: Student Audience Services, Artist Services/Back
Stage Host, Production Assistant and Delegate Services.
