BC Artists are Invited to Join the Artists in the Classroom Directory

Are you an artist who works with young people in schools? Are you looking for a way to promote your practice and connect with local teachers and schools in British Columbia? Apply to join the Artists in the Classroom Directory.

The Artists in the Classroom Directory (AICD) is an up-to-date directory of practicing professional artists working in a variety of disciplines who are interested in working on projects with young people in a classroom setting.

The AICD is a useful resource for educators, arts/community presenters, cultural programmers and others interested in engaging artists with this range of experience for arts workshops or artist residencies in schools in BC. The AICD is also a valuable self-promotion tool for artists looking for these types of opportunities.

Please note that with this application intake, we are adjusting the timing of the AICD to more closely align with the school year:

• There is now one application/renewal deadline per year. This year, the deadline for artists to apply is February 15, 2017.
• The AICD will launch on June 1,2017. It will remain online and in print for one year, so teachers can access the same directory for an entire school year (September to June).
• This change will make it easier for BC educators, cultural programmers and community presenters to discover local artists to collaborate with in their classrooms.
