Families are invited to take part in Cut, Paste, Action!, a lens-based workshop, part of Vancouver's Capture Photography Festival. Artist Kate Henderson will introduce kids and families to art works that investigate human form, movement and gesture.
The first half of the workshop will focus on the work of pioneering photographer Eadweard Muybridge and his studies of motion in the human body. The second half of the workshop will focus on Dada artist Hannah Höch and her use of found images of faces, eyes and hands.
Families will experiment capturing their own bodies in motion and will be cutting and pasting these images along with found photographs from magazines and newspapers into their very own layered collages.
Join us either in Vancouver or in New Westminster:
Admission is free! No registration necessary, but do come early as this is a popular program. Each 45-minute session takes place twice, at 11am and 1pm. All ages are welcome!
