Job Posting: Grants Manager

ArtStarts in Schools is seeking a Grants Manager to join our team. This is a regular full-time position starting mid-September 2015. ArtStarts disburses a variety of grants to schools and school districts across BC to help ensure that arts remain an essential part of educating young people. This position reports to the Executive Director and is based from ArtStarts’ administrative office and gallery located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at Richards and Robson.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an administrative role in an office atmosphere (preference will be given to those with a not-for-profit or arts and culture sector background)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grants Management: Manage the administration of grants including responding to inquiries, receiving applications, entering and updating grant information in a database, managing jury meetings, allocating funds, support reporting requirements to the funders
  • Advocacy and Outreach: Deliver grant writing workshops, attend and present at events to build awareness of granting programs, develop content for newsletter
  • Artist in the Classroom Directory: Field inquiries from artists, receive applications, manage selection committee meetings, launch directory updates twice annually, process fees, support the production of promotional materials, and share stories of funding impact
  • Office and Facility Management: Purchase office supplies, maintain office equipment, support reception, manage facility requirements

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Proven writing, speaking and organizational skills,  with demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and work cooperatively in an open office setting
  • Passion for promoting the role of the arts in education
  • Advanced administrative skills to manage and organize information efficiently
  • Focused, organized and thorough when accomplishing tasks with concern for detail
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word plus experience with MS Access
  • Geographic understanding of the province of British Columbia
  • Positive demeanour and open attitude to take on multiple tasks and support the team
