Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund

Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund encourages and assists young people to attend quality live performances of classical and traditional music, opera and ballet.

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Cherniavsky Junior Club for the Performing Arts, which provides the funding for Cherniavsky's Mr. Music Fund. Learn more.

Qualifying performances include recognized orchestral and opera companies; choral events; classical and modern ballet; chamber music; classical soloists in concert or recital. Please note that in-school performances and workshops do not qualify for this funding.

Who Can Apply?

Kindergarten to Grade 12 educators, school administrators and PAC Representatives in British Columbia are eligible to apply for this grant.

Grant Amount

Grants of up to $500 are available to support schools in purchasing tickets for students. Grants may cover up to 60% of ticket price, to a maximum subsidy of up to $5 per ticket.

Supported by the Cherniavsky Junior Club for the Performing Arts Society, Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund was named after an endowment created by Jan Cherniavsky, a world-renowned classical pianist.
