The Kingsway Project
December 8th, 2011 - March 31, 2012
This photo-installation exhibition celebrates the rich history of the Kingsway corridor and the deep learning that takes place through an artist residency. The show features the work of 120 grade 3 to 7 students from Sir Guy Carleton and Charles Dickens Elementary, in collaboration with media artist Anne Marie Slater.
The Kingsway Project brings together the past and the present, historical imagery with student photography, and classroom projects that helped to gel the concepts and learning that took place over the three-month residency.
Free group tours are available.
Visit our blog to find out more about the story behind this three-month artist residency project and discover some of the process behind the art now on display in the gallery.
This project was made possible thanks to support from the City of Vancouver’s 125th Anniversary Grant Program.
