Visit the ArtStarts Gallery to celebrate and honour National Aboriginal Day on Tuesday, June 21. We will be offering free guided tours of the current exhibition, View Finders: Young People's Art through a Lens-based Approach, with a focus on The Tillikum Lens Project, created by youth from the Squamish First Nation, the Osoyoos Indian Band and Xet'olacw Community School in Mount Currie.
Tillikum means people in the Chinook language of the Pacific Northwest. Tillikum Lens then is the People's Lens—a lens we look through to gain different perspectives and understanding. This means a camera lens—telling stories through images.
The ArtStarts Gallery is located at 808 Richards Street (at Robson) in downtown Vancouver.
Free guided tours will begin at 11am and 1pm on Tuesday, June 21.
Registration is not required, just arrive a few minutes early to take part.
Adults and kids of all ages are welcome!
