Buzzscaping: Building a Pollinator House in Strathcona

This project is sure to create a buzz! Supported by an Artists in Classroom grant, Buzzscaping: Building a Pollinator House in Strathcona was a collaboration between a group of artists, Environmental Youth Alliance, and teachers and students at Lord Strathcona Elementary.

Check out this short video about this project that incorporates the art of weaving with social responsibility, learning about ecosystems and the environment, and understanding the importance of bees in our world. Not to mention creating shelter where bees can thrive here in Vancouver!

This project was supported by an Artists in the Classroom grant disbursed by ArtStarts in Schools and funded by BC Arts Council and the Province of BC.

Feeling inspired? Apply for Artists in the Classroom grants to work with professional artists in your own school. The next deadline to apply is October 15, 2015. Learn more at artstarts.com/aic
