Events for Kids and Families

ArtStarts is delighted to offer free arts programming for kids and families to enjoy together. We host special events for exhibition openings, Family Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, and more, often in partnership with local organizations. We have also hosted a variety of virtual offerings!

All ArtStarts performances and workshops are for young people and their caregivers. All adults must be accompanied by a minor.

Please note: as the ArtStarts Gallery is currently closed for renovations and reopening in Winter 2024/2025, many of our Events are on hiatus.

ArtStarts Explores: Our Province at Play

Come explore with us, online for the month of July. "ArtStarts Explores: Our Province At Play" programming takes place every Saturday at 11 a.m. on Facebook Live. Families and young artists can continue creating together, practice physical distancing, and connect with fellow explorers from across the province and beyond!

ArtStarts Explores

ArtStarts Explores is a hands-on drop-in workshop series for creative and adventurous families held from 11am to 12pm every Saturday (except the last Saturday of each month, when we present ArtStarts on Saturdays events). Explore creativity with your family through hands-on investigations and discover a wide variety of materials and artistic mediums. These process-based explorations invite families to experiment together through observing, touching, drawing, moving, assembling and listening to ignite their creative learning.

ArtStarts is pleased to offer free arts-based weekend workshops or performances for kids and families each month—in both Vancouver and New Westminster.
