My daughter says it was awesome and she wishes she could do it every day!
This was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with my son—making art!
Thanks for bringing this to our 'hood. You are helping us to raise active and bright kids.
What an incredible performance! It was thoroughly enjoyed by our kids and by us, the parents. Thank you!
Wonderful, inspiring and fun workshop! Will use the skills at home, too.
Coming to ArtStarts in my community is always the highlight of the weekend.
The kids loved it and dad really got into it too - surfaced some amazing hidden artistic talents!
Great! Educational! Fun! Artistic!
Join us for a special performance series to celebrate National Indigenous People's Day! Mamarudegyal and Hope are a powerhouse pair of emcees, parents, and the founding members of the 4-piece Indigenous hip hop and multimedia group, Rudegang Entertainment. Since crossing paths at the 2014 Native Hip Hop Festival, Hope and MRG have been making waves in the BC underground hip hop scene through their excellent use of lyricism, musicality, and content. The pair have become known locally for their advocacy towards marginalized groups, and their loud and proud attitudes toward Indigeneity. In recent years Hope and MRG have kept themselves very busy with a number of activities, such as funding youth-led community service projects through MRG’s employer (Rising Youth - TIG). In 2017, the pair one a combined 3 Fraser Valley Music Awards and were featured in APTN’s Digital Drum in 2018. In 2019 they were awarded two Telus Storyhive grants to create a music video for Hope's upcoming album as well as a documentary about Indigenous hip hop (The Foundation) which are both directed and produced by the pair and will be available on Telus Optik TV in summer 2019.
