Two time JUNO-nominated West Coast musician, Ginalina, is a beloved TV character on Kids' Knowledge and NBC Universal Networks. A modern singer-songwriter with a curious and childlike heart, she is popular for her creative musical arrangements, fun harmonies and solid lyrics that tie into the whole child, and the new BC educational curriculum. Her music is inspired by nature appreciation, the strong family unit, and the importance of communities. Catchy and playful, reflective and sensitive, her upbeat music in French, English and Mandarin appeal to diverse audiences. Over the years, Ginalina's music has garnered consistent recognition with accolades that include the Western Canadian Music Award's Children's Artist of the Year, Canadian Folk Music Awards' Children's Album of the Year (nominations), Canadian Children's Book Centre (recommendations), and Parents' Choice Awards. Using colourful visuals, games, and familiar songs, Ginalina will teach the class the basics of excellent storytelling and songwriting. Using her experience with writing award-winning and Juno nominated albums, along with great patience, exciting activities, a sense of humour, and enthusiastic encouragement, students will collaborate to help create the theme, lyrics, and music they can feel proud to sing. This workshop is an excellent team-building, language arts, creative thinking, and personal/group growth exercise.

With great patience, exciting activities, a sense of humour, and enthusiastic encouragement, students will all learn the parts of the instrument, key chords in the C family, and a song they can feel proud to own! All instruments and handouts provided. This workshop ties into music appreciation, fine motor skill development, creative thinking, basic math skills, and language arts development.
