New Hours: The ArtStarts Gallery is now open on Sundays, too!

We are excited to announce that the ArtStarts Gallery is now open on Sundays, too!

Come visit the ArtStarts Gallery Wednesday through Sunday, from 10am to 4:30pm.

The ArtStarts Gallery is the first in Canada devoted exclusively to young people's art. Since the gallery opened in 2006, our exhibitions have celebrated the exciting artwork that emerges when students, educators and professional artists work together to deepen learning, creativity and community connections.

Our current exhibition, Dwellings: From Seabeds to Cityscapes, examines how where we live—and how we inhabit that space—shapes our experiences, our culture, and even who we are. See how young people from across British Columbia have reflected on their immediate surroundings and examined the concept of dwelling—in both human and natural worlds.

Admission is free and all ages are welcome!

If you're wondering about the artwork pictured in the photo above, here's a little video that shows you how students at LV Rogers Secondary in Nelson, BC created these dry-point etchings on a recycled CD for their project, entitled Water Micro and Macro:

You can watch more virtual gallery tour videos from Dwellings online.
