Opening tonight! Strathcona Elementary students will celebrate an ongoing community-based project with outdoor projections of their photography this evening. Drop in after school or work to see photos and hear audio recordings that reveal the voice of inner-city children.
Children Live Dream Here: urban photographic landscapes
Thursday, October 29
Chapel Arts (303 Dunlevy)
5:30 pm – 7 pm
The event is a project of the Princess Avenue Interpretive Walk, led by artist Anne-Marie Slater. Last spring, students in ten classes were given disposable cameras and set out on foot to engage in a photo-based mapping project of their culturally and economically diverse neighbourhood.
The photos will be on view in the lobby gallery and main hall of Chapel Arts, and will also be projected outside the building. Hope you can make it to this magical event!
