November 04, 2013
We're excited to be once again participating in A Good Book Drive: an annual book drive to bring stories to a new generation of readers, and support kids in need of new books.
This November, purchase a new copy of your favourite kids' book to be donated to this year's book drive recipient: Frontier College Waiting Room Literacy Pilot Program.
Stop by the ArtStarts Gallery and Resource Centre to drop off your book. We're located at 808 Richards Street, at Robson Street, in Vancouver. You'll be able to personalize your donation with a special bookplate, sharing your own story of why that book is special. By permanently placing those stories within the cover of the books, kids will read the personal narratives and learn about the impact of that book on someone else's life.
To learn more about A Good Book Drive, check out their website, which features interviews with people who have donated their favourite books. Here are last year's interviews with ArtStarts team members Elfred and Navida. Also watch this great video that will no doubt inspire you to pick up and donate a good book of your own.
