Four Times the Fun at the ArtStarts Gallery on Saturday, April 27

Join us at the ArtStarts Gallery on Saturday, April 27 for a whole day of fun.

Here are the top 4 reasons to come visit:

  1. April 27 is the last Saturday of the month, which of course means ArtStarts on Saturdays! This month features the ever-energetic Will Stroet, who will be sure to get your feet tapping.
  2. April 27 is also the final day to celebrate BC Arts and Culture Week, which runs from April 21-27. We'll be celebrating with a special visual arts workshop with Phyllis Schwartz, who will introduce kids to the magic of lumen prints.
  3. April 27 is also the first Saturday that Botanimalogy, the brand new exhibition in the ArtStarts Gallery, will be open to the public.
  4. Aaaaaand... April 27 is also the first Saturday of our new Gallery hours! Starting April 27, the ArtStarts Gallery will be open Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

Phew!

Like I said, it's going to be a fun day. :)

Here are some more details about ArtStarts on Saturdays with Will Stroet and the Lumen Prints Workshop for BC Arts and Culture Week. Stay tuned for more details on Botanimalogy!

Lumen Prints with Phyllis Schwartz: A Visual Arts Workshop in Celebration of BC Arts and Culture Week
Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm
At the ArtStarts Gallery (808 Richards St at Robson)

Recommended for ages 5 and up

Create photos without a camera! Join artist Phyllis Schwartz to discover the beauty of lumen prints, a style of analog photography that can be used to document as well as create artistic renderings of botanical specimens. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to process a small print and watch how the print changes in fixer and during the drying process.

This event is part of BC Arts and Culture Week, a BC-wide celebration of all things art and culture that turns the spotlight on the vital contribution that they make in learning and in life.
