With so many earthquakes happening to close to home recently, as well as other natural disasters happening on the East Coast and around the world, we're taking steps to prepare ourselves for emergency situations here at ArtStarts.
We assembled a few staff members to serve as our emergency task force, and they've done a great job figuring out all the areas we need to address in a crisis situation, be it an earthquake, fire, or another adverse event.
One of the things we did was put together "grab n' go" bags for each staff member, which include items that we might need in case of emergency, such as blankets, water, flashlights, and everyone's emergency contact numbers, as well as a master bag for general supplies.
We were excited to open the box of red "grab n' go" bags and are very glad that we now have a plan in place, should anything happen.
In the next couple of weeks, we'll be running through our various evacuation plans, which we will schedule to practice and review at least twice a year.
This was also a good reminder for each of us to develop an emergency prepardenesss plan at home, and assemble our own emergency supplies kits.
