Michael Mitchell gets kids dancing to songs about Canadian history!

Seasoned children's performer Michael Mitchell visited the ArtStarts gallery on Saturday to perform some songs about Canadian history! He got kids stomping around like prehistoric dinosaurs, paddling an imaginary canoe through the Land of the Silver Birch, and waltzing like Log-Drivers on the Ottawa river.

Kids and parents were invited to sing along as Michael performed original and traditional songs that celebrate the Canadian identity. Many left with handy lyric-sheets so that they can continue singing at home!

Michael's performance was part of the ArtStarts on Saturdays free workshop series. Find out more right here.

And don't miss next month's special halloween workshop with Max-i-Mime! Kids will create their own made-up halloween characters (scary or sweet) using acting, mime, body manipulation and imagination. Workshops are at 11am and 1pm, Saturday, October 31st.

Many thanks to the TELUS Vancouver Community Board and the Leon & Thea Koerner Foundation for their generous sponsorship of the ArtStarts on Saturdays series.
