We all enjoyed a fun and laughter filled puppet adventure on our October ArtStarts on Saturday’s workshop series. Multi-talented puppeteer and ventriloquist Kellie Haines invited us to join an amazing space expedition along with her friends Magrau the bird and Kamilla the frog.
With a packed audience for both performances, we visited a very special planet were we had the opportunity to dance disco music and play with the beautiful props Kellie shared with us to recreate the outer space scenery. It was a lively performance where our audience of all ages interacted with a telescope, the moon, the sun, a rocket, wear hats and wigs, and everyone had a chance to learn how to transform a sock into their own puppet.
ArtStarts on Saturdays takes place on the last Saturday of every month — check out past workshops here. Stay tuned for our next Imagination Play workshop with Kathryn Ricketts on November 26th. Get ready for some loud and colorful fun as Kathryn leads us into our imaginations using the popular Dr. Suess’ book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! as a launching pad.
