Join us this weekend for painting workshops with Sandi Henrich!
Kids and families are invited to join artist Sandi Henrich in her workshop Painting Magnificent Coastal Forests. Be inspired by the forests that surround us and Emily Carr's Post-Impressionistic forest paintings, and have fun creating your own landscape painting in this workshop.
Learn how Emily Carr developed a unique artistic style to express her love of British Columbia's trees and forests that in her words "teem with life, growth and expansion and are a refuge for myriads of living things." Explore the concepts of foreground, middle-ground and background in your art while using oil pastels and paints to build up a layered composition that expresses how you feel about the forest landscape.
Ideal for ages 6 to 12.
Take part in Sandi Henrich's workshops either in Vancouver or in New Westminster:
Admission is free. No registration necessary, but do come early as this is a popular program. Each 45-minute workshop takes place twice, at 11am and 1pm. This workshop is recommended for ages 6-12, but all are welcome!
