Welcome to our new Office Administrator, Sydney Jacus!

We would like to welcome Sydney Jacus to the team as ArtStarts'' new Office Administrator. Sydney will primarily provide program and financial support for our two major funding programs: Artists in Education and Artists in the Classroom. She will be a valuable asset as we embark on some new outreach initiatives across BC and will support the development of our professional development offerings for artists and educators. With her administrative talents ArtStarts is going to be even more efficient and organized!

Originally from Colorado, Sydney came to Vancouver to attend Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where she studied Printmaking. Sydney''s creative talents extend to her creative thinking and problem-solving skills: highly organized and detail-oriented, she is keen to review and develop current administrative systems to make them more streamlined and effective.

In her own words, Sydney says: "When I learned about ArtStarts, I was re-inspired about the working in the arts. I''m happy to be a part of an organization that makes a difference in the world and has a positive impact. Even when I''m doing something ''routine'' like processing applications, I''m finding it inspiring to see the real connections that that application represents: that proposal is going to become an amazing creative experience for a young person. Growing up, I benefited from many organizations that offered arts programs for kids, so working at ArtStarts, it seems like I''ve come full-circle. There''s so much happening at ArtStarts right now, I feel lucky to be in a position to be a part of all the exciting projects under way."

Sydney is looking forward to growing into her role as well as exploring ideas about how we might continue to grow our programs and resources for educators and artists. Welcome to the team, Sydney!
