Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund

Cherniavsky's Mr Music Fund encourages and assists young people to attend quality live performances of classical and traditional music, opera and ballet.

Qualifying performances include recognized orchestral and opera companies; choral events; classical and modern ballet; chamber music; classical soloists in concert or recital. Please note that in-school performances and workshops do not qualify for this funding.

Who Can Apply?

Kindergarten to Grade 12 educators, school administrators and PAC Representatives in British Columbia are eligible to apply for this grant.

Grant Amount

Grants of up to $500 are available to support schools in purchasing tickets for students. Grants may cover up to 60% of ticket price, with a minimum subsidy of $3 per ticket and a maximum subsidy of up to $5 per ticket.

How to Apply

  1. Read the Grant Guidelines
  2. Pick a performance for your school to attend that fits the guidelines!
  3. Apply online through our form before November 1, 2018
  4. Submit your receipts, when you have them, via email to cherniavsky@artstarts.com (please note, submitting receipts does not guarantee that you have been awarded the grant.)

Each year ArtStarts receives more applications than can be funded, so grants are distributed by lottery. Successful applicants will be notified within 3 months of the deadline. Please submit your receipts when you have them to expedite the reimbursement process, although a submission of receipts does not guarantee that you have been awarded the grant.
