Working with professional artists, students created unique art projects focused on sustainability, combining hands-on art-making workshops with scientific fieldwork and biology. Together, they explored their relationship to the natural world, creatively investigated solutions for a greener future and cultivated a new awareness and understanding that will help them to take on roles as community leaders and environmental stewards of the future.
Highlights of Grow include murals revealing the life-cycle of salmon, short videos emphasizing easy ways to reduce our environmental footprint, watercolour studies of local birds, and ephemeral art made solely out of natural and found materials collected around the school yard.
