Infusion in the News: St. Joseph's in Chemainus and J.A. Laird in Invermere

We're happy to see that two more Infusion Champion Schools have been profiled in local media recently.

On Friday, the Cowichan Valley Citizen ran a brief article about Infusion: Arts in Education, mentioning that St. Joseph's Elementary School in Chemainus is among the six schools participating in the first cohort of Infusion Champion Schools.

We're looking forward to hearing about the ideas that Infusion Teaching Artist Ewa Sniatycka, principal Gwen Jahelka and the staff at St. Joseph's come up with at upcoming meetings to brainstorm, develop and plan their Infusion journey over the next few years.

Also, today's Invermere Valley Echo included a long article about Infusion: Arts in Education, highlighting local elementary school J.A. Laird.

J.A. Laird's principal, Jill Jensen and Infusion Teaching Artist Denise Lemaster were both interviewed.

"We're really excited, because it was quite a competition to get chosen," J.A. Laird principal Jill Jensen said.

"I'm very excited about it, I think it's a wonderful program," Lemaster said. "It's great to think of art throughout the curriculum, I think the concept is wonderful."
