Get Involved as a Knowledge Philanthropist

Knowledge Philanthropist

What is a Knowledge Philanthropist? This term, coined by Omar Ladak, refers to someone who volunteers primarily with their head, by contributing what they know. At ArtStarts, we engage Knowledge Philanthropists as project-based volunteers who contribute their specialized, professional skills.

We invite you to explore how you might invest your interdisciplinary skills at ArtStarts. There are opportunities for professionals across sectors to get involved in projects that support expanding the role of art in education for young people across BC.

Check out these examples of how generous, talented professionals have invested their skills at ArtStarts:

  • Robert MacKie is a user experience interaction designer who explored opportunities for greater user engagement of the ArtStarts Gallery
  • Madeline Koeberling translated the content of View Finders, a recent ArtStarts Gallery exhibition, into French which allowed us to present our first bilingual exhibition

For current Knowledge Philanthropist opportunities at ArtStarts, visit artstarts.com/volunteer

Even if we don't have a project posted that fits your skills, if you have something you'd like to contribute, we'd love to hear from you!
