Announcing Summer Camp for Teachers!

ArtStarts Summer Camp for Teachers

We're excited to announce a professional development workshop for K-12 teachers called Summer Camp: Core Competencies + Arts-Based Learning. This year's event takes place in Vancouver on August 21 and 22, 2017. Early Bird rates are available until June 30.

How do we make sense of the world around us? In this fast, ever-changing world we need to ensure that our students are nimble, resourceful and adaptable. How young people make sense of their world relies on how we creatively communicate its complexities to them.

This year, Summer Camp is focusing on Core Competencies and key Big Ideas by exploring contemporary issues that our students will face every day and into their futures. This workshop series is the ideal experience you’ll need to set you and your students up for a successful year of openness, curiosity and inclusion. Through four arts-based workshops, build confidence in your ability to engage with students’ critical and creative thinking skills as we focus our lens on personal and social responsibilities through workshops facilitated by experts in their field:

  • Leveraging the Power of Listening and Storytelling to Effect Social Change with Brielle Morgan
  • Designing an inQueery for Difference: Provoking Artful Questions Through the Q in LGBTQ with Jen Sungshine
  • Gamifying Ecology with Rob and Dan Straker
  • Cultural Resurgence in the Time of Truth and Reconciliation with Kim Haxton
  • Collaboration Blocks with Leanne Ewen

All workshops are ideal for K-12 teachers of all subjects.

Sign up today! Spaces are limited. Early Bird rates are available until June 30: $125/day or $200 for both days. After June 30, registration is $150 per day or $250 for both days.
